Depression.org.nz promotes small steps that you can take on the path to recovery from depression and anxiety. It also encourages help seeking by visiting the depression.org.nz website.

The depression.org.nz campaign is part of the National Depression Initiative (NDI). The programme works to reduce the impact of depression and anxiety on New Zealanders.

    The depression.org.nz Small Steps campaign promotes simple, positive actions that New Zealanders can take on the path to recovery from depression and anxiety. The small steps are examples of positive activities that people with lived experience of depression and or anxietyhave found helpful. . For example the small steps include:

    • opening up to a friend
    • going for a walk
    • doing some gardening
    • sorting photos to connect with your whakapapa.

    • places to go for help
    • advice for people who are supporting others
