Free bowel screening from 50
In some parts of Aotearoa New Zealand, free bowel screening is available to Māori and Pacific peoples from the age of 50 to 74 as part of a two-year evaluative implementation/learning pilot.
The Waikato two-year pilot runs until early December 2024 and the Tairāwhiti and MidCentral pilots run until late 2025.
People who are eligible to take part in bowel screening from the age of 50 as part of the age extension pilot will continue to be invited every two years until they turn 75, provided they remain eligible.
If you have any questions about being part of the age extension pilots, please contact us.
