Lumps and swelling in your testicles are fairly common and, in most cases, the cause is not serious. But if you have lumps, swelling or pain you should see your healthcare provider.

Prostate gland enlargement (benign prostatic hyperplasia) is an overgrowth of prostate cells that can cause problems. It is common in men as they reach age 40 and above. It is not prostate cancer, but prostate checks are still important.

Epididymo-orchitis is an inflammation of your testicle and the tubes attached to the testicle, which are called the epididymis. It is usually caused by an infection.

Urethritis is inflammation of your urethra, the tube that you pass wee (urine) through. It can cause a discharge from the tip of your penis, pain on weeing and itching. It is usually caused by a sexually transmitted infection (STI) such as chlamydia or gonorrhoea.
