The endoscopy service at Rotorua Hospital and Taupō Hospital uses a camera to investigate the cause of pain and other issues with your digestive system.

The clinic is open Monday to Friday, 7am to 3:30pm.

Phone 07 348 1199 and ask for the duty manager if you have questions outside these hours and your procedure is for the next day.   


Where to find us

The endoscopy unit is on level 2 of the Clinical Services Building at Rotorua Hospital on Pukeroa Street.

Taupō patients should report to the main reception at Taupō Hospital on Kotare Street.


Services we provide

Our endoscopy services at Rotorua Hospital and Taupō Hospital are:

  • gastroscopy — an examination of your food pipe, stomach and small bowel
  • colonoscopy — lets the healthcare provider see inside your large bowel (also called large intestine or colon)
  • bronchoscopy — (Rotorua only) lets the healthcare provider look at the lining of your lungs.
