Cutting back on alcohol consumption: Key results

This report provides information about the extent to which drinkers think about and attempt to reduce their alcohol consumption, and how they might achieve this. Results were from the 2015/16 Attitudes and Behaviours towards Alcohol Survey, which asked questions of ‘last occasion drinker’ (those who had consumed at least two alcoholic drinks in the past three months) and the 2016 Health and Lifestyles Survey, which asked questions of ‘past-year drinkers’ (those who had consumed any alcohol in the past 12 months).
