Second-hand smoke exposure among 14 and 15-year-olds: Infographic

17 Jun 2019

The Health Promotion Agency/Te Hiringa Hauora (HPA’s) Youth Insights Survey (YIS) monitors Year 10 students’ behaviours, attitudes and knowledge on a range of tobacco-related topics, including about their desires and attempts to stop smoking, and has collected this data since 2006.

It also collects data on other health-related behaviours, lifestyles, activities, internet use and their connectedness to family and friends. This fact sheet focuses on young people’s exposure to second-hand smoke in vehicles and their homes. Results are presented by gender and ethnicity.

NOTE: Some findings in this report have been updated due to an issue detected in survey weighting procedure. These findings may differ from the previously published version.
