Services we provide to tamariki (birth to Year 8)

Children’s dental services include free dental checks, preventing and repairing decay if required.

Services we provide for rangatahi (Year 9 to 18th birthday)

Health New Zealand | Te Whatu Ora Waikato has contracts with dentists for free dental care for rangatahi until their 18th birthday.

If enrolled, you will be booked for a free dental check every 12 months and free treatments for preventing or repairing decay.

Caring for your child's first teeth

Your child’s first teeth (baby teeth) will help them to eat and speak well. Looking after their baby teeth helps make sure their adult teeth come through healthy and strong.
The B4 School Check

The B4 School Check is a free health and development check for your 4 year old. It is the last Well Child Tamariki Ora check and helps give your child the best start at school. Remember to take your child’s My Health Book with you to the check.
