Services we provide

Gisborne Hospital's clinical orthotist provides full orthotics services, from assessment to fitting of orthoses including:

  • neck braces
  • back braces
  • wrist, elbow and shoulder supports
  • hip, knee and ankle braces
  • footwear and footwear supports
  • abdominal binders
  • pregnancy supports.

When the limb fitters visit, they repair and modify artificial limbs (prosthetics).

You can be referred to orthotics services by:

  • specialists
  • your GP or other healthcare provider
  • ACC case managers
  • hospital-based physiotherapists.
