Referral information
To be considered for weight loss surgery, you need to be referred by your GP. You will also need to meet specific criteria, including:
- having type 2 diabetes or obstructive sleep apnoea
- being a non-smoker
- losing more than 5% of your weight before but could not keep the weight off
- taking all medications
- being motivated to make lifestyle changes.
Not everyone who is referred to this service will be able to have the surgery.
